Sometimes when you’re scrolling through streaming sites looking for something to watch, all you want to do is find comfort in a show or a movie you’ve already seen before.
Well Netflix is throwing it back to the ’90s with it’s updates in April – Bill Nye and Mr Peabody and Sherman are just a few of the huge names that are making a comeback.
Here are all of the nostalgic shows and movies that are making a comeback next month.
An American Tail
The Disney classic was released way back in 1986 and is a favourite of many ’90s kids. It tells the story of a Russian mouse emigrating to the United States but gets separated from his family along the way.
Cool Runnings is a classic and if you haven’t seen it already, definitely catch it when it comes to Netflix next month. Released in 1993, the film follows four Jamaican bobsledders who dream of competing in the Winter Olympics despite never having seen snow before.
If there is one thing we learnt when watching this movie it was not to get Gremlins wet, expose them to bright light, or feed them after midnight. You might have not seen the movie for a few years, but it’s definitely time to relive those childhood nightmares.
While Scooby Doo the movie wasn’t released in the ’90s, it was definitely a film that ’90s kids would have found themselves loving. The live-action movie allowed us to see Scooby and the gang in a way we hadn’t before. It’s coming to Netflix and is the perfect film for a throwback Thursday.
Disney’s The BFG
Again yet another movie that wasn’t released in the ’90s, but will become a sure fire favourite for kids born in the era. Released only last year, the Spielberg production is a semi-live action version of the Rahl Dhal favourite of the same name.
Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey
Three pets are left behind when their owners go on holiday so the trio decide to set out on an adventure in a bid to find their family. Along the way they are met by danger and challenges. It’s a ’90s classic!
Bill Nye Saves The World
Bill Nye is a legend in the eyes of ’90s kids everywhere. Well he’s back with a new show in 2017 that will be an exclusive to Netflix. It will be a talk show that will focus on science and it’s relationship with pop culture, politics and society.
The Mr. Peabody And Sherman Show
It’s not the original making a return, but a new version of the classic. Netflix is reimagining the cartoon where Mr Peabody and Sherman host a late night show, in which they use Mr. Peabody’s WABAC machine to take trips to events in history and to bring special guests forward in time to participate on the show.
